E-MAIL SHERIFF BROWN

\

Let me begin by offering my gratitude to the residents of Skamania County for allowing me the privilege of serving as your Sheriff.  I fully understand the obligations attached to this Office and continue to look forward to providing you with the highest quality of law enforcement services.

There are many things we are doing within the Sheriff’s Office that are allowing us to better evaluate our service to the citizens and visitors of Skamania County.  On our website you will find our Online Feedback Form.  If you have had recent contact with any Sheriff’s Office staff and wish to comment on the quality of service you can complete the form and submit it to the Sheriff’s Office online.  Additionally, every two weeks we randomly select 10 calls for service and mail a feedback survey to the reporting party.  We are experiencing a 60-70 percent return rate on the mailed forms.  Our customer satisfaction rating is approximately 95 percent.  We use the information from the surveys to evaluate our service and make improvements when suggestions are offered.

I have also established a Sheriff’s Advisory Group made up of citizens around Skamania County.  The advisory group meets at least once every 3 months.  The benefit to me, as Sheriff, has been to hear the comments, suggestions and concerns of those we serve.  The eyes and ears of the communities in Skamania County are represented through the advisory group.  This has proven to be a valuable forum for me as your Sheriff.  By listening and learning from the members of the advisory group I hope to continue to find ways to improve our ability to meet your needs.

We are continuing our planning efforts for the Citizens Academy.  Please stay tuned to our website for upcoming information regarding the dates and times for this program.

Even with the continued uncertainty of funding levels for government services in Skamania County, I remain committed to working hard to see your money is spent in a manner supporting our efforts to provide you the highest quality of service performed by the best trained and equipped officers.  I am proud of the efforts of the dedicated professionals working at the Sheriff’s Office, and am convinced they are serving the law enforcement needs of our communities to the best of their abilities.

I encourage you to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.

David S. Brown
Skamania County Sheriff
